Current Policy Initiatives
Academic
- Departmental Advising
-
Contacting each department individually to determine if they satisfy the following criteria:
- One Advisor from the point of declaration and through the Junior and Senior years
- A dedicated faculty advisor or point of contact for First and Second-year students, and departments must make this information clear on their websites
- Advisors must be faculty members on Morningside campus, including office hours
- Anonymous feedback mechanism for evaluation of departmental advising
- Basic training on advising and engineering requirements
- Peer Socials
- In attempt to enable fellow newly declared sophomore engineers to meet one another and to enhance interaction between under- and upperclassmen (to enable informal mentorship and create connections)
- NOTE: If you are a sophomore interested in networking with/getting course suggestions from an upperclassman in your department, or you're an upperclassman interested in helping out a sophomore or junior, email Samantha Wilner
